Sapiens Health Foundation celebrated the World Kidney Day 2022 in Chennai on Friday, 11th March. The foundation has entered its 25th year of existence and is planning regular programs on Health Care every month throughout the year. Prof. V. Kamokoti, Director of IIT Madras presided over the function and spoke about integration of Medicine and Engineering with Research Projects. Dr. Edwin Fernando, Head of Nephrology, Stanley Hospital, Chennai elaborated the World Kidney Day theme “Bridge the Knowledge Gap to Better Kidney Care”. He emphasized the importance of educating the Patients, Health Workers, Health Administrators and Doctors in preventing and managing kidney disease effectively. Dr. Rajan Ravichandran recalled the milestones of Sapiens Health Foundation and highlighted the future role of Artificial Intelligence in managing kidney patients, the role of Xeno Transplantation from animals, Artificial Wearable and Implantable Kidneys and role of Stem Cell transplantation. Mr. Boskey and Maadhu Balaji made the function lively with their humorous talks. Mr. R. Sundar, Trustee welcomed the gathering and compered event. Mr. O.S. Arun rendered the invocation song.
